Manipulated Photography

Manipulated Photography is the process of using image editing techniques to photographs to create an illusion or deception. Jerry Uelsmann often uses this technique with the use of his darkroom. He finds material and contact sheets that seem appealing. I feel that Uelsmann’s medium is his imagination because he sees pictures fit together in his head that other might not understand. Jerry Uelsmann does not want to take his viewers to a familiar place; his goal is to transform them on a journey that is profound.  Jerry’s mysteriousness in his work is what sets him apart from other photographers.
